Final TV Debate (or debacle)
The third and final TV debate between the leaders of the three main political parties will be broadcast live tonight on the BBC at 8.30 pm.
Questions tonight will be primarily on the economy. After yesterday’s Rochdale debacle the focus could be quite different.
I have been given exclusive access to the running order of tonight’s debate and in particular the music set up for the entrance of each leader:
David Cameron: “I met a strange lady, she made me nervous….” – Down Under by Men at Work.
Nick Clegg: “Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am….” – Stuck in the Middle With You by Stealers Wheel.
Gordon Brown: “And now I’m begging you for mercy……” – Mercy by Duffy (not that Duffy).
I’m sure readers can do better than my attempts. Please add your own suggestions (within reason and the law!).
The debate is on BBC One at 2030 BST, the BBC News website, BBC News Channel and Radio 4

They could join in on a choral rendition of Thin Lizzy’s greatest hit, of course.
And there is a Led Zeppelin track called “The Immigrant Song”
